In a predominantly red county, thousands of Coloradans lined up all the way around the University of Northern Colorado campus in Greeley. About 10,000 people gathered at the campus in Greeley to hear Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez during their “Fighting Oligarchy” tour. They also stopped in downtown Denver later that day. One attendee, who was teary-eyed, said, “Democracy is important to me. I’m not happy with what’s happening. I’m not okay with the mass firings, and I’m not okay with a billionaire having my data and access without my permission.” Another attendee, who was very passionate, said, “Things have gone completely downhill. Both parties, the two-party system is fundamentally corrupt.” Many attendees were unhappy with not only the current administration and the Republican Party, but with the federal government as a whole.
